National Library Week takes place next week, April 14-20, 2013. This event is sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country. It is a time to celebrate and promote the use of and support for the libraries and and the people who work there.
Every year there is a new theme for National Library Week; this year’s theme is Communities Matter.
Rohrbach Library has created great ways for students of Kutztown University to get involved with the Rohrbach Library:
One of the ways students, faculty, and staff got involved again this year was through the READ poster campaign in March. Kutztown University personnel came to the library to have their picture taken with their favorite book. Then the Rohrbach Library interns created READ posters for each individual that participated. These posters are hanging up around the first floor of the library and are on the Library’s Facebook page in the 2013 READ Posters album.
A big thank you to all of the students, faculty, and staff who participated in this event. We hope you enjoy your posters!
Another way that students can get involved is through Facebook. We have had our Facebook Bulletin Board up on the ground floor in hopes that students will join us on Facebook. We will be taking it down to put up the READ posters this week, BUT, we hope you will still visit us on Facebook and like the page so that you can participate in our Facebook Trivia next week! Check out the Facebook page for daily surprises.
