Children’s Literature Costume Competition

by Jessica Reppert

Have you ever heard of Christmas in July? Well, Rohrbach Library is having Halloween in March… and April! Get ready to dress up for our Children’s Literature Costume Competition.

  • Who: Students, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to participate.
  • When: We will be taking pictures now until April 6, Monday – Friday, 8am – 3pm. Pictures will be posted to a poll (via Poll Daddy) right here on the Library’s blog at 3pm on Friday, April 6, when voting will begin.
  • Where: Come to RL 24 (ground floor, Curriculum Materials Center) for your photo shoot.
  • What: Dress up as your favorite children’s book character for your chance to win. Bring along the book to have your picture taken, then get as many friends and classmates as possible to visit “The More You Know…” and vote for your photo in the poll.

At 3 p.m. on Friday, April 13, the contestant photo with the most votes will be the winner. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place. Costume Competition contestants will also have the option of their photos being turned into an ALA READ poster.

“Like” Rohrbach Library on Facebook and check out last year’s READ posters!

Costume photos will also be available for viewing in an album on the Rohrbach Library’s Facebook page.

spin on a subject that’s been discussed for years.
    Great stuff, just excellent!
