Have you Googled yourself lately? Do you know what information about you is floating around in cyberspace? What will a potential employer find out about you when he or she searches your name online?
These are important questions to ask in the digital age. There is information about us online that we may not even know is out there. And with new, invasive practices on Web sites, for example Facebook trying to get you to link your profile, it’s easier than ever for eveyone to see information you don’t want them to see.
How do we stop this? Choose privacy! The American Library Association (ALA) is hosting Choose Privacy Week from May 2-8 to help bring privacy issues to light. The ALA is inviting you to join the conversation about this, and to learn how you can choose privacy in this invasive digital age. See the link below to watch a video about Choose Privacy Week.
