Over 1500 free videos now in online catalog!

1545 free videos from Annenberg Media are now searchable in our online catalog thanks to Michael Weber, Technical Services Librarian!  The records link patrons to the online streaming videos produced by Annenberg.  To access these videos, users only need to register with Annenberg’s Website (which is free and easy with little personal information required) and log in to the site!

Available titles cover a wide range of curriculum subjects.

Happy Retirement Ed!

At the end of the day today, we bid farewell to Ed Zajdowicz, the Technician here in the Curriculum Materials Center, as he is retiring after 16 years of service to the university.

Libraries Thriving in Difficult Times

Last week, the New York Times published this article about the state of libraries in difficult economic times.  Have any other librarians out there seen an increase in traffic and usage of library materials?  We hope that funding continues to be given to libraries around the country, so that patrons can continue to find good resources and entertainment in these tough times.

Today, Sovereign Bank will be hosting an Academic Session with a special live-mike Q&A Session with TV and News personality Barbara Walters at 4 pm in the Keystone Arena.  This event is exclusive to KU students, faculty and staff ONLY.  Admission is free! Tickets can be picked up at the KU Foundation Office in Maple Manor with presentation of a valid KU ID. 

Ms. Walters will then speak at the 20th Annual Decision Makers Forum at 8 pm in the Keystone Arena.  For sponsorship and ticket information, contact the KU Foundation at 610-683-1394 or visit their website.

St. Patty’s Day on the Hill

The first 400 students with valid KU ID receive a free T-shirt! Activities include a free late night breakfast, the opportunity to make your own charm pin or bracelet, a photo booth, Irish music and dance lessons, games and prizes, and more giveaways!   This event will take place in the South Dining Hall, Golden Bear Food Court, from 9pm to 11pm.
