Kutztown University Reading Exchange

The Office of Public Engagement in collaboration with Rohrbach Library’s Voice & Choices Center introduces four annual bookish interludes and invites you to attend the first Kutztown University Reading Exchange.

The opening reading is from bestselling author, Walter Mosley’s Futureland: Nine Stories of an Imminent World. Angel’s Island is the short story of an imprisoned computer hacker, Vortex “Bits” Arnold. Photocopies of this science fiction tale are available at the library’s circulation desk.

It is an opportunity to:

Become acquainted with the voices of historically under-represented groups in the Diaspora through their own written works—In February, Blacks; in April Asians; in October Latinos/Hispanics; and in November Native Americans.

Read and discuss

Exchange information about your favorite book, or the latest, or the most controversial, or most puzzling, or most frustrating, or the most captivating book you have read by an author from the African Diaspora.

Be curious and engaging

Share and learn diverse perspectives

Leave your office for lunch

Library Database Training Program

Attention Faculty and Staff:
Announcing the library database training program by Bob Flatley

The library currently subscribes to over 80 different electronic databases encompassing some 23,000 e-journals, over 10,000 e-books, and a myriad of other resources including primary source documents, videos, handouts, lesson plans, etc.

This impressive collection can be daunting. As the library’s Electronic Resources and Periodicals Librarian, I am offering to travel to your department and conduct a session on the following:

  • New databases
  • Department or topic specific resources
  • Document delivery and interlibrary loan services for articles
  • The session will be followed by a question and answer period.I will come prepared with handouts and a laptop for the demonstration. Preferably the session can be scheduled in a smart classroom.

Please contact me at flatley@kutztown.edu or 3-4168 for more information or to schedule a time. Thank you.
